This Christmas will be remarkable for a few special bowlers thanks to the third annual United States Bowling Congress Holiday Auction, which will take place on eBay Nov. 30-Dec. 10 and benefit the Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Featuring items that could be unique gifts for bowlers or investments for bowling center proprietors, USBC's Holiday Auction officially will end Dec. 10 at 9 p.m. Central Standard Time. Winning bidders will be notified on Dec. 11 and announced publicly after Christmas to avoid spoiling any holiday surprises.

Complete details on all auction items are posted on bowl.com. Auction items include:

  • A full day of personalized bowling instruction for a male and a female, led by former Team USA head coach Fred Borden and current head coach Jeri Edwards at Borden's bowling center in Akron, Ohio.

  • An expenses-included trip for two to tour the Ebonite/Hammer manufacturing facility in Hopkinsville, Ky., and visit Ebonite's Galaxy Lanes, where the winner will receive professional instruction, four new Ebonite/Hammer bowling balls and a four-ball wheeled bag.

  • An expenses-paid trip for two to a Denny's PBA Tour event of the winner's choice, courtesy of Brunswick – includes a day of bowling lessons with PBA Hall of Famer Parker Bohn III, a Brunswick bowling ball for each person and tickets to the Denny's PBA Tour finals telecast.

  • Bowling with three-time Masters champion and USBC/PBA Hall of Famer Mike Aulby in the doubles competition of the 2007 USBC Open Championships in Reno, Nev. (Aulby will be available to bowl after April 15 if the winning bidder has a confirmed date in Reno, or June 29 or 30.)

  • A his-and-hers bowling package from Storm Products, which includes a total of four bowling balls, a pair of two-ball roller bowling bags, two accessory kits and two matching shirts.

  • A state-of-the-art battery-powered Kustodian Walker lane conditioning machine, valued in excess of $30,000 – through the generosity of Kegel, the entire bid price will be donated to the Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund.

  • A bowling party for 50 people, donated by Qubica AMF.

  • An original cartoon strip inked by Garfield artist Jim Davis and the full-color finished product, double matted and professionally framed.

  • An expenses-paid trip for two to International Bowl Expo 2007 in Las Vegas next June, including lodging at The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and registration for the sport's most comprehensive industry celebration, provided by the Bowling Proprietors Association of America.

To participate in the USBC Holiday Auction, visit ebay.com and enroll as a bidder. To access the auction items on eBay Nov. 30-Dec. 10, click on their "Advanced Search" link, then "Items by Seller." Enter "bowlingscholarships" as the Seller's User ID and click on "Search."
